Letters from our Readers

Thanks for years of great reading, I'll miss Dark Realms.
Thank you, Sherrye Lamma

I'm sorry that you will no longer be publishing Dark Realms. There is simply no other magazine like it out there. A goth magazine with class. I'll miss it.
Pat

Awh damn! You guys are stopping Dark Realms? Aww.. but you guys had one hell of a good run, I wish you all good luck with what the future has in store for you.
Sincerely, Gaeten

I am so bummed to hear that you are no longer doing Dark Realms! This is by far my favorite mag, and it will be greatly missed. Who am I going to bug now that I can't harrass Dr. Arcana (still not sure who that is :) I really will miss Dark Realms. Forever in the dark now,
Brian Lewandowski

I received the latest issue yesterday, and spent last evening sorting through another fantastic compilation of things dark and wonderful. Ii did see in the back of the magazine where you are going to discontinue Dark Realms with the Halloween issue. I hate to see the publication stop, but i completely understand and wish only the very best for you in all of your current, and future, endeavors. Ii have all of the issues, save the very first one... that I still cannot seem to find. They'll certainly remain a treasured part of my personal library.
Dark regards, John

I was so saddened to learn that Dark Realms will be discontinued this year. You know, I only discovered the full spectrum of the workings of Monolith Graphics rather recently. It is unfortunate that I had to jump on board just as the ship was being decommissioned... I wish you all well with your other endeavors.
Joshua Hanafin

I am disappointed that Dark Realms will no longer exist. I have subscribed for several years and I will miss it. There is no other magazine that is even close to the content and style of this publication.
Karl Keiserman

It's with great sadness that I read this letter. My oldest daughter turned me onto Dark Realms a couple of years ago. We've enjoyed your work immensely! I really hate to see such a good thing end. I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors.
Sincerely, Steven J. Belt & Family

I'm saddened by the end of Dark Realms Magazine. It was one of the few magazines I enjoyed. I appreciate your support throughout the years and good luck in your endeavors.
Edward Holsclaw

Hello, Hope everyone there is doing well. I am so thrilled to have finally solved and to be one of the first five to solve Dr. Arcana puzzle. But upon reading the magazine I am saddened to learn come Oct. 2008 there will be no more Dark Realms Magazine. I cherish every issue.Thank-you you all for such a truly amazing magazine that has bought me joy in reading. Still A very big fan of monlith graphic and will cintinue to purchase other items.
Yours truly, Joann Wesp

I just wanted you to know how much I enjoy your magazine and how sad I am at being too late in finding it.  They are filled with entertaining diversions and unique articles.  I'm savoring every back issue I bought.  How I wish I could have subscribed!! Good luck on all your endeavors!
Connie Shultz

Dark Realms Magazine continues to be one of the slickest and best looking magazines covering the horror scene with an eclectic array of reviews, articles, and short fiction... a fantastic magazine; extremely well-produced and designed with entertaining articles and informative reviews... this is one that I will always look forward to checking out.
Tim Janson, The Horror Review

My husband and I discovered your magazine about a year ago, and I must say... we love it. We are both avid horror fans, and we love gothic music, dark art, dark, twisted stories, movies, you name it. Your magazine covers so much of what we like. We are thankful to have discovered it and will continue to have our noses buried in the pages of each issue that we can get. Well done, Awesome mag!
Sincerely, Stacey & James Griffith www.twistedtots.net [04.30.06]

To everyone at Dark Realms: Just wanted to say "WOW!" I've received my first issue today (18) and I haven't been able to put it down. I'm like a kid in a candy store. I am thoroughly impressed with the professional quality of it all (the in depth research, the variety of the articles, the gorgeous artwork, and even the glossy paper!) Congratulations on creating such a ghoulishly delicious magazine for all of us who revel in the darkness and the occult. This is one magazine that will be read from cover to cover in our household!! Thank you!
Dark Blessings! Carole Beasley, Australia [05.15.05]

Just a short word to thank you for being the best magazine I have ever read. My wife and I would both like to thank you for the effort that you put into your mag. It is a relief to be able to find everything that interests us in one place. Once again, thank you.
Noel Howell [12.15.04]

Dark Realms is the best goth zine I have ever found. It's full of interesting things. I love it. I have told all my friends about it, and they fall in love with it. We all want to thank you for such a cool magzine. Thanks!!
Lexis Star [10.27.04]

I am writing to give my thanks for Issue 16 of Dark Realms. After hearing that there was an article about Phantom of the Opera in it, I went to my nearest Hot Topic to acquire a copy. I was impressed with the caliber of the writing for the entire magazine, and especially for the Phantom article; I have been a Phantom of the Opera "phan" for eleven years and it has been a long time since I have read such an accurate and thorough, yet concise article. My praise and appreciation to Mr. Ruthven for writing the article, to the editor and staff for featuring it, and also to Mr. Vargo for the lovely cover art depicting Red Death. The quality of the entire magazine was a breath of fresh air from the mainstream work I find at newsstands and I look forward to the next issue.
Morgaine Angelowe [10.21.04]

Intelligent and completely absorbing... Dark Realms has everything you could ask for in a magazine. Interesting articles on history, artists, monsters, things we've always wanted to know more about, as well as things we may have forgotten about; little puzzles and conundrums, reviews of books, movies, music and video games. They even touch a little on gothic fashion. I'm already eager for my next issue!
Morgana, Amazon.com customer review [10.10.04]

A review of issue 15 from Chateau Bizarre

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your magazine. The first issue I bought was issue #6 from Hot Topic. I then bought as many back issues as I could and have subscribed ever since. I have every single issue except #1. I love reading your magazine and anticipate it in the mail. It's a wonderful compilation of Gothic art, music, writing and culture. Keep up the good work!
Jennifer Bowen [8.17.04]

Highly Impressive... Dark Realms is in a league of it's own. It's not bulked full of advertisements and nonsense gibberish like you see in other magazines. There is so much information and interesting articles wrapped in atmospheric artistic beauty to enthrall the soul.
Dembraced, Amazon.com customer review [4.17.04]

For those of you who enjoy "exploring the shadows of art, music, and culture" as much as I do, this magazine is for you! I discovered this magazine after looking at a band's website, and shortly thereafter rushed out to buy it. I have since devoured the issue and become a subscriber.
Dark Realms has it all. I really enjoy this magazine because it doesn't focus its content on one or two things, but rather encompasses all aspects and angles of the gothic genre and culture. Yet another plus is the fact that, unlike many magazines on the stands today, this one isn't bogged-down by advertisements. You don't have to turn past ten pages of ads between articles and reviews...
For those of you bored with the monotony of most of the magazines out there, and those of you who thoroughly enjoy the gothic subculture, Dark Realms is a must have! I've never seen a magazine quite as well put together and comprehensive as this one. You will not be disappointed...
Jennie Thompson, Amazon.com customer review [10.02.03]

This quarterly feast-for-the-eyes is so beautiful that we feel Dark Realms should be designated first as a quarterly of pop-gothic art. Dark Realms offers a visual cornucopia in every issue: photos, insets, calligraphy and runes... stunning artwork adorns each and every page. Even the ads (and there aren't too many) are visual stunners. We're deeply, deeply attracted and swooning under the Siren's spell.

We heartily recommend Dark Realms. It's a quarterly treasure trove that will captivate your senses. In addition to fiction and visual delights, Dark Realms offers thoughtful essays, interviews with bands, artists, and writers, and also articles on occult topics. A great print pub all the way around...
Daniel E. Blackston & Lady E. [4.16.02] Firebrand Fiction Reviews

Every single thing about this magazine is awesome! Finally, something I can devour cover to cover. Thank you so much!
Veronica Cirami

I must say that Dark Realms is great. I love it, my friends love it. The artwork is beautiful and captivating, not to mention the articles and the reviews. I just want to thank everyone at Monolith Graphics for putting out a magazine that I and everyone can enjoy.
Patrick O'neill

I just wanted to compliment you on a wonderful and enjoyable magazine. I absolutely love it! I read through your first two issues, and unlike other gothic magazines, yours is very informative and a great read. I would recommend this to anyone. I love everything from the pictures, to the stories, to the reviews on music and books. Keep up the good work.
Allison Chien

Thanks for producing such an amazingly cool magazine. From the very first impression of the cover to a quick oogling flick through, I knew that I loved it!!! My friend and I both think it's one of the best magazines ever. It has everything, interesting articles, fantastic pictures, gorgeous illustrations and just a little bit of everything. Great cd reviews, great book reviews, film goss, cool links, I'm soooo impressed! I will devour them over and over until we get our next installment... All the best for the magazine may it continue for a very long time.
Sabine, Australia

Dear friends, I would like to take this time to say how much I enjoy Dark Realms. I have been looking for a magazine to fill the void---and to say that you have filled that void is an understatement. Best wishes to all involved, and continued success!
Neal, United Kingdom

I just wanted to say kudos to everyone at Dark Realms!!! Your magazine is excellent, and I especially loved the article on Hammer films. Much continued success!
Amaryllis

I received Dark Realms a week ago, and I can't put it down. I love Joseph Vargo's art, and all the articles were great, especially the music reviews, the fashion and art. The magazine itself is done so exquisitely, that I would frame it!
Monse, Chile

I got Dark Realms today! I am so pleased, excited and honored to be included in your gorgeous publication!
Kimberlee Traub (Artist)

The quality of the graphics, writing and overall tone is awe inspiring. There is everything in here from music, game and book reviews to stories, fashion, and the priceless artwork of Joseph Vargo.
Mike Ventarola, Hidden Sanctuary (Online Radio)

Wow, we just got our copies yesterday. Thank you soooooooooo much, it's an excellent magazine and you did a great job putting the interview together. We really liked your choice of photo's, especially the opening one for the piece, we have never seen that one in print before. Anyway we really appreciate your wonderful coverage of us and such a fine magazine. We wish you much continued success.
KaRiIN & Statik, Collide (Band)

I just can't congratulate you all enough. Dark Realms looks incredible and was thoroughly enjoyable. Absolutely top-notch work. I really loved the spotlight on Hammer Studios. I'm so honored we could be part of the first issue. Keep it up! You rule the school.
Dru, This Ascension (Band)

We were very thrilled to receive our copies of Dark Realms and we were likewise impressed by the continued quality of your magazine! I also wanted to compliment you once again on the Madame Endora palmistry spread. That was very cool! I really like the way that four-page feature turned out. Goth 101 was nice too!
Michael Riddick, The Soil Bleeds Black (Band)

I must say that I am extremely impressed with both the magazine and your very generous coverage of the Machine in the Garden. The layout of the magazine is really impressive as is the quality of the writing and the subject matter. I guess I am not generally impressed by most goth style magazines, but I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of what you all are doing.
Summer, The Machine In The Garden (Band)
